Overview

The Alberta Centre for Excellence for Seed (ACES) is being developed by the Seed Industry Partnership (SIP), a joint venture of the Association of Alberta Co-op Seed Cleaning Plants and the Alberta Branch of the Canadian Seed Growers’ Association. Alberta Agriculture and Rural Development was a founding member of SIP in 1992 and provided support towards SIP research.

ACES will be a:

  • A seed technology corporation investing in high-impact science and technology research for the development of new crop genetics

  • A non-profit corporation organized by farmers and the seed industry for everyone’s benefit (There is no sector in the economy that would not benefit directly or indirectly)
