Alberta Institute of Agrologists 14th Annual Conference

The 2018 conference will address the theme of “Governments and People”. The conference focuses on agriculture and the environment portfolios related to governments. There will be two plenary sessions. The morning session will start with a “green paper” commissioned by AIA around the theme of the conference. The morning plenary session will hear from current and former government representatives, a journalist, and various consultants about the current and future plans for Alberta. The afternoon plenary session will include responses from industry, former senior government executives, the legal community, and private sector.
Green Paper presented by Dr. Ian Urquhart, professor, political science, University of Alberta. Plenary speakers include: Bev Yee, current Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Ted Morton, former Conservative Minister of Energy, Grant Sprague, former Deputy Minister, Alberta Energy, Gerard Protti, Chair, Alberta Energy Regulator, Graham Thomson, journalist, Edmonton Journal, among others. Conference attendees include: industry, NGO, government and scientific leaders representing global and regional agriculture, energy, and environmental sectors.
