The Alberta Canola Producers Commission has appointed Christine McKee of Stirling, Alta. and Alan Hampton of Rowley, Alta. to fill vacant spots on its board, a June 7 news release said.
McKee will represent the growers in region nine, which was previously held by Kevin Serfas, while Hampton will represent region 12, which was previously represented by Holly White.
“I would like to thank Christine and Alan for putting their names forward and accepting their appointments. We now have farmer directors in all 12 of our regions in Alberta,” Roger Chevraux, Alberta Canola board chair says in the release.
The release noted both regions received no nominations during the fall election cycles and no candidates stepped forward at the annual general meeting. Following this the board appointed directors to represent the regions.
