The Alberta Canola Producers Commission will hold the first ever Alberta Canola Conference in conjunction with the association’s annual general meeting on Jan. 17 and 18, 2023, a Dec. 6 newsletter said. The conference and AGM will be held in Lethbridge, Alta.
The conference will be held in a different location within Alberta each year to help ensure all growers across Alberta have the opportunity to participate and to have direct input into the organization, the release said. Alberta Canola will live stream the AGM each year to increase accessibility for growers across Alberta to vote on motions, resolutions, or elections that may take place.
The release noted the Alberta Canola Conference is a canola focused event that brings together Alberta Canola and our national partners, the Canola Council of Canada, and the Canadian Canola Growers Association (CCGA) for interactive presentations on canola agronomy and policy. The AGM will be held on the first day of the conference with growers able to only attend it if they choose. On the afternoon of the second day of the conference Alberta Canola’s Research Symposium will be held, it will focus on southern Alberta this year and will include updates from researchers and an opportunity for farmers to identify southern Alberta research priorities.
