Alberta farmers and processors can now easily display locally made and grown products with the new Made in Alberta label, the provincial government says in a news release on July 10.
“Alberta is known as a place that produces safe, high-quality food. These days, people want to know where their food comes from, and this will make it a lot easier for them to choose food from Alberta. When you buy Alberta food, you are supporting another Alberta family. It keeps money in your community and in our province,” Devin Dreeshen, Alberta minister of agriculture and forestry, says in the release.
The label will allow shoppers to easily identify food made in Alberta when choosing items while shopping, the release notes.
