Harvest progress across the province has reached 8% completion for major crops, marking a 6% increase from the previous week. This progress is slightly above the 10-year average of 5%, though it falls just below the 5-year average.
The South Region leads the province with 15% of its major crops harvested, although this is behind the 5-year average of 24%. The Central Region follows with 12% completion, ahead of its 5-year average of 7%. The North West, North East, and Peace Regions have all recorded less than 3% of crops harvested, aligning closely with their historical averages.
Among major crops, dry peas show the most significant progress, with 47% harvested across the province. Barley follows at 12% completion.
Cereal crops are nearing the end of dough development and are beginning to ripen across most regions. This development is slightly ahead of the 5-year average. However, crop conditions across the province are rated at 40% good to excellent, which is below both the 5-year and 10-year averages of 55% and 57%, respectively.
Crop conditions are strongest in the Peace Region, where 54% of crops are rated good to excellent, followed by the South Region at 52%, despite a decline from the previous week. Conditions in the Central (21%), North West (28%), and Peace Regions have remained stable, while the North East saw a decline, with 44% of crops rated good to excellent, down 6% from the previous week.
