FarmCash Accepting Spring Advance Applications

FarmCash applications are open for the spring for more than 50 commodities, a March 1 news release from the Alberta Wheat and Barley commissions says.

“Year after year, more and more producers are utilizing FarmCash as a way to improve the efficiency of their cash flow management,” Syeda Khurram, FarmCash CEO, explains in the release. “With costs rising across the industry, FarmCash can be instrumental for producers to stay ahead of the curve.”

Producers in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba can apply for up to $1 million in advance payments. They’ll receive the first $100,000 interest free with the remainder at TD prime minus 0.75 per cent, the release notes. Funds won’t be released until the official Advance Payments Program open date on April 1.

The release says FarmCash is a business risk management tool which was created for the benefits of producers.
