Social media is an integral part of business these days. In the agriculture world, people use it to share everything from what’s happening in the fields to the board rooms, and it’s essential to communicating and sharing information about your business. Using social media though isn’t easy and having a social media strategy is important, but what should your corporate account look like and should you police what your employees’ post?

On the June 15 episode of Seed Speaks we’re taking a closer look at social media strategies and what you can do to stay on top of it. We’re joined by Charles Tweed, owner of Tweedia, and Crystal Mackay, founder and CEO of Loft32, to discuss if your social media policy is up to snuff.

Tweed is a former reporter and city editor with the Brandon Sun. Tweedia is based in Brandon, Man. and is a thought leader in social media, working with some of the largest brands in the agricultural, energy and construction sectors in North America. Tweed has worked as an emcee, play-by-play voice, journalist, photographer, social media coordinator and keynote speaker for organizations such as the Northern Seed Trade Association.

Mackay is a speaker, trainer and leader in communications, business skills and earning public trust in food and farming in Canada. She served as the founding CEO of Farm & Food Care, the Canadian Centre for Food Integrity, and most recently her own company, Loft32. Loft32 is a network of dynamic professionals with a deep background in agriculture, food, business and strategic communications. Mackay is a graduate of the advanced agricultural leadership program and several other executive business management training programs.
