The second annual CrossRoads conference will be held in Calgary, Alta. on Jan. 29, 2024 at The Westin Calgary Airport, an Aug. 29 news release from the FarmTech Foundation of Alberta said. The first edition of the conference was held in Edmonton, Alta. with the plan to rotate between cities each year to reach more farmers across the province.

“CrossRoads was warmly welcomed by farmers and industry to the agriculture event space this past January,” Todd Hames, FarmTech Foundation of Alberta chair, said in the release. “We are excited to host farmers in a new location next year and dive in to leading agriculture innovation that will help propel any cropping operation to new heights.”

The release noted that this year’s conference theme is “new ideas and directions – examining big picture innovation in agriculture.” Conference keynotes include Lenore Newman, author of Dinner on Mars and director of the Food and Agriculture Institute at the University of the Fraser Valley, serial tech entrepreneur Walter Schwabe, and meteorologist Drew Learner. The conference will focus on networking and engagement, including last year’s event favourite “Beer Hour” extended to a “Beer Afternoon Social”, a range of new and exciting speakers, as well as a full hot breakfast each day.

Early bird registration opens on Oct. 2 with single and two-day tickets available. Registration include breakfast and lunch each day. For more information on the conference visit the CrossRoads website.
