New Herbicide Batalium for Wheat Weed Control Registered

Batalium, a herbicide that provides broad spectrum control of grass and broadleaf weeds that limit the yield potential of spring, durum and winter wheat has been registered in Canada, a Jan. 22 news release from UPL Corporation said.

It enables them to cover more acres in less time while maximizing the value of their crop input dollar,” Jon Gough, Canada portfolio marketing lead for UPL, said in the release.

Batalium has a high-performance formulation that features four powerful active ingredients from three modes of action, providing an easy-to-use tool for optimal results, the release said. It provides control against Group 1 resistant wild oat, kochia, cleaver, buckwheat and storksbill. Batalium is fast acting and long lasting, has a wide application window and features excellent crop safety.
